![]() Also, half of my images were pushed to the margins. Now that I have turned on facing pages, I can't seem to get a box to be viable on both sides of the page- it is viable on the original side but blank on the other. How do I get my units to be inches? Right now they are p's.Ħ. You were right! I'm actually not committed to whcc or in design at this time, but I did mention pages laying flat for large photos that span two pages and metal hinging when describing the albums to brides.ĥ. Wow, you guys are the best!!!!! Thanks! Your answers are straight-foward and I really appreciate the screen shots. Make sure you set your compression rate to 'medium' under JPG quality. Check 'spreads' and set the page numbers. You can use the PDF preset of "smallest file size" and tweak it from there. Starts on a right page, then spreads.Įxport as PDF first screen. What your spreads should look like if you've done it right. Here's a couple of shots for my guestbook/album setups: I saw AlbumExposure at WPPI and had tried them before, might be worth looking in to. There are free web templates available for that, but it takes time to set up each one. If you want a proof with turning pages, then you'll have to use customized software for that one. My clients have never been confused by anything and understand the layout as long as you describe it well. Just hit W again, and everything should come backĢ) File -> Document Setup -> check "Facing Pages"ģ) Close any and all open documents Click Object -> Fitting -> Frame Fitting Options -> under "Fitting on Empty Frame" select "Fill Frame Proportionally"Ĥ) I'm not sure as I'm an InDesign newbie ( Add pages) and then send it all as one file. Good Luckġ) I'm not familiar with the ctrl+W shortcut. I know this was of absolutely no help to you, but thought I would chime in. Much easier to pick up than indesign was for me. Free and fairly easy once you watch their training videos. Oh and it has the turning page preview for the customer to approve once you finish your upload.įor album design I use Photojunction remix. I like them better than WHCC who I use a lot. I just ordered a 10X10 guest book, linen pages with a canvas photo cover.their quailty is outstanding. Their books are good no doubt but have you tried Black River Imaging. Littlme, I can't speak for indesign, but I would comment on WHCC. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it. I won't be doing it for this exact project, but it would be good to know in the future. Is there a way to send a preview to clients- especially one with turning pages? I have seen this type of sharing done before for albums and it will come in handy when I can send them a way to preview my draft before it goes to the printer. This seems like way too many steps to be the way this program is supposed to work.Ĥ. Whenever I draw a new frame or adjust the size of my frame I'm right clicking on the image clicking on "fitting" clicking on "fill frame proportionately," resizing the box and moving it on the page or adjusting it as I'd want. ![]() I tried to close the album and select fill frame proportionately to set the default, but that didn't happen. Is there a way to make "fill frame proportionately" a default? Right now, when drag and drop an image from bridge, ID is showing a tiny corner of my gigantic images as a default- I can't see why this would be an ideal default. I'm not sure how to pull up that initial screen again without creating a new document.ģ. I tried to check the box that enables each side to be shown but it doesn't show a full spread then, which I'd need to create a page with a photo spanning both pages. ![]() ![]() I believe the first and last pages are half pages. I don't believe WHCC operates like this (though I'd love to see a page with all the WHCC specs on it). How can I design a 20 sided document in InDesign that shows full spreads? It seems that I can have my 8x8 book as 8x16 w/ gutter etc, but the first page is still a full page w/ gutter as is the last. Now I want them back so I can continue designing but control U (show smart guides) is in light gray and not an option. A tutorial showed me to hit control-w to see a print preview, (it makes all the smart guides disappear). Is there anyone who uses InDesign or WHCC that wouldn't mind helping me out? I've tried searching on-line helps and faq, etc.ġ. I have some specific questions about each that I have had difficulty finding answers to. I am designing a guest sign in book using engagement pictures and InDesign to be printed via WHCC.
